Cash is king. Make sure to take the time to monitor your cash flow. In these times it is especially important to stay on top of your finances monthly, if not weekly. Don’t let cash shortages sneak up on you.

Closing the books. It can be a really helpful discipline to “close the books” once they are reconciled for a period, for example at the end of the month. After a period is closed, most accounting software, including Quickbooks, can be set up to require a password or provide users with an alert before editing ‘closed’ transactions. This may help prevent inadvertent changes to your past which can throw off reconciliations, financial statements and more. Just the simple act of closing your books regularly can help keep them nice and clean.

Like so many NPO's today, I prefer utilizing nonprofit accounting software because it works faster and is less prone to errors. This will lead to more transactions being processed later on.

I agree with the point your making John. If you have the chance to try using ERP Accounting Software, I could suggest either SAGE or IRIS. I'd also suggest that you do some Accounting Software Training for increased productivity.

There are companies out there like Porte Brown Technology that provide ERP Accounting Software and Accounting Software Training. You may want to seek companies like what I've mentioned to effectively use quickbooks.

Yes Lem, because as a member of the accounting for nonprofit organization, the demand for our firm is generally high that is why we need to get things done as fast as we can so that we can attend to others who need our help.

Or you could visit a business intelligence consultancy firm. They could help you with the accounting stuff and teach you programs such as Sage Accpac.

Business firms usually use ACT Contact Management, in which they've invested in ACT Training online to make this even more productive.
